MP3 & WMA
Three ProAudio Source Units are capable of
MP3 playback and decoding WMA (Windows
Media Audio) encoded music. WMA format has
a higher compression rate than comparable
MP3, permitting more music information to be
recorded on a CD-R or CD-RW with maximum
fidelity for your enjoyment. Clarion's MP3/WMA
Players support ID3/WMA Tags and display
Album Title, Track Title, and Artist Name.
Furthermore, DXZ835MP, DXZ735MP, and
DXZ635MP can playback "Play Lists" that you
setup in your PCs. (Support file extension.m3u,
.asx) The entry level DB336MP can read MP3
files and also supports playback of “Play Lists”.
The three ProAudio source units also have a 20
second shock proof memory when reading
MP3/WMA files. This memory is not used when
listening to standard audio and WAV CD’s, so as
not to alter the high quality audio reproduction of
our ProAudio CD Players.
MP3 technology is a new way of compressing
music into a smaller storage space. A standard
audio CD up to 700 megabytes (mb) of storage,
enough for a standard music playback time of
about 80 minutes. MP3 is a compression format
that stores digital audio information in about
1/10 the space of a standard audio CD. In other
words, a 700mb CD can store up to
TEN
HOURS
of music!
MP3 discs can be made from standard digital
audio files in a conversion process called “rip-
ping”. A standard digital audio file is compressed
and converted into an MP3 file. A special pro-
gram is needed to play back these MP3 files on
any computer. These MP3 files can be “burned”
(recorded) onto a CD-R (recordable) disc for
playback on an MP3 enabled device. If the files
are recorded at a high enough conversion rate
(128mb or higher), they can sound almost as
good as a standard audio CD.
Audio Features
Source Unit Dual Zone
With the DXZ735MP and DXZ635MP ProAudio
source units, you can select separate audio
zones for front and rear seat passengers. The
front zone is the source units regular front and
rear channels, while the rear zone is a dedicated
RCA line level output for use with wireless head-
phones. Front zone can be either the built-in
AM/FM Tuner, CD player or AUX input, while the
rear zone can be the audio from any device con-
nected to the CeNET, such as a DVD changer,
Audio CD changer, TV tuner, or Sirius Satellite
Radio. By pressing a front panel button, the zones
can be reversed in an instant.
D-R/CD-RW Playback
Clarion CD Players let you play a variety of
CDs. You can burn WAV files on CD-R or CD-
RW and listen to them on Clarion Source Units.
You can even add disc/artist/song titles when
burning the CD-R/RW's, and ProAudio source
units will display this information.
High-Power Output
With powerful amplification at the head unit,
you can enjoy a high-powered audio experi-
ence without external amps.
